This is really what it comes down to. Bryant had a much prettier game. His movements were more fluid and his agility made for some breathtaking plays that a guy as big as LeBron can't make, but he could not finish in the paint like James can and he wasn't as good a shooter either. Then there's his shot selection, which was just horrid which people tend to overlook because of how pretty the made shots look. It's kinda similar to how a lot of people don't notice howthe shot selection of Curry and Klay is because they tend to make so many of the
shots that they take. They just happen to make them at a rate that justifies their shot selection.
Kobe didn't have horrible shot selection. There's a reason he was around 45% for most of his career. His game was slashing earlier on, midrange after that and that post moves after that, turn-around after that. Kobe just ended up starting to take ridiculous shots just to prove he could, which he didn't start doing the dumb ass shots that Curry takes until later in his career. He's never been JR Smith/Crawford - now those 2 have bad shot selections.
And honestly, Kobe's game is prettier IMO because there are hella flaws in Lebron's game that he hides well. He still can't post, jump shot eh.., no handle. He has court vision and the combination of speed/strength/finishing.
You gotta be joking right? I mean for you to start this poorly and only go further off the rails with your postKobe didn't have horrible shot selection. Nah
Kobe had a bad shot selection
He'd rather take a bad shot then let a bum shoot
Kobes fg percentage is a testament to his greatness
Nobody else could shoot as many bad shots as he did and maintain that field goal percentage
No doubt about that. Best bad shot maker I personally have ever seen, but he still took way too many shots that made us all hit him with the

Too suborn and didn't want to rely on teammates. It's what made all the "Kobe doesn't pass the ball" jokes funny, they were based on truth. I remember a game against the nets where he shot a 3 with the game on the line while doubled and two separate teammates were wide open behind the arcAbsolutely
If Kobe was a bit more reserved then his fg percentage would have been noticeably better and he would have scored a little less and averaged more assists
His biggest flaw was shot selection and it's not even close
. I forget which years (I think 2005-06 through 2007-08), but he had a 3 year stretch where he took 56 shots in crunch time and racked up 1 assist
. My brother is the biggest Kobe fan I know and he was on the floor when I showed him that statistic. If he was more patient with his shooting he probably would've shot some 48-49% on the career compared to 44-45% and some 35-37% from distance as opposed to 32-33%.Too suborn and didn't want to rely on teammates.
