Well when I grill Salmon I put it in foil and place it on the top rack. And by the time i finish grilling the other stuff, the Salmon is done with all the accumulated juices its been soaked in. Also for burgers cause its easier to keep them together. I dont use it on the burgers the whole time, just till they hold and then I put them directly on the grill.

Everywhere...You never there.
These are the reasons why. Plus yes you do still get the grilled taste. If you poke holes in the foil, all u do is save on clean up time and cut down on eventual rust. They even sell those sheets specifically for grilling and that's what I buy.

Pretty much.

Only time i put foil on the grill is when im at the park or the beach

As you should. You have no idea what people do to and put on those public grills.

I always recommend doing that in places like parks when you gotta use public grills.

...also if you have a struggle grill and struggle meat and/or grilling small pieces of meat on a struggle grill, the foil could be necessary. Those grill bars on a struggle grill are prone to rust and have an unorthodox configuration and a lot space between 'em. As @Dwolf said, hamburgers stay together better on these types of grills especially.

But you still get grill marks and you still get a grilled taste using foil. For novices using charcoal, it can also help with heat regulation for different types/cuts of meat.

And as someone pointed out, it's a typical practice to use foil for certain seafoods.

But if you have a real, grade A, heavy duty grill at your crib, it's no need for foil if you don't prefer it and/or aren't a novice and clean it pretty regularly.

Very few people really, really know how to grill, btw. It truly is an art. It's so much more than just open-flame cooked meat...I just do it for fun, but I'm getting better.

helps to keep the grill clean :myman:

only black people do this? :why:

this is dumb tho. Get you a grill brush. I clean the grill each time I use it by starting the fire and brushing all the grit off while its hot as hell with the wire brush. It works every time.

as for the grill, I don't use foil EXCEPT for when I cook salmon on there, cuz that shyt tends to stick a lot. Also use foil for shyt that would slide on the charcoal like vegetables and mushrooms.
