I'm Black (Last time I checked...) and I respect Eminem...he's nice. But I have never been able to listen to a full album. IDK why, but his voice and beats start to get annoying after a while.

But as nice as Eminem is....no white dude in Hip Hop is more ill on the mic than this man...

Black people don't pay attention to Eminem enough to discredit him at this point by and large...he's in that space with Macklemore and Black Eyed Peas where we really don't give too much a sh!t either way about him...Eminem is no longer an "urban" artist, not really a factor like that

How can he be the GOAT MC when he doesn't have any albums on the caliber of Me Against

The World, It Was Written, and a million more black Hip-Hop albums better than his corny trailer park rapping cac self :wtb:

And, I say that with acknowledging, he has a couple of songs in his catalogue (The Way I Am,

Guilty Conscious, The Real Slim Slady, The Dead Wrong verse, bytch Please, Loose Yourself, and Obie's Luv Me) that I do like :yeshrug:

I don't feel that black people discredit him unfairly from anyone else, they just don't like when non-hiphop knowing cacs act like he's the Beatles of rap.
People who never heard Illmatic, Amerikkkas most wanted, Paid in Full, Grip it on that other level and on.. But still think they have the right to claim that a dude is goat, when your other favorite artists are Linkin Park and whatever garbage artists is out there.

Most people put him top 15, top 10..
He's as "discredited" at Jay-z, since they are the biggest popstars in the game and the kings as far as pop culture goes, a bit of extra hate from dweebs is very expected.

I also feel that white people discredit him "just as much", Pitchfork stays giving his albums 2.6/10 and shyt.

Is Em REALLY that nice? :shaq2: Is he a decent rapper yes. But this nikka is not a top 10 rapper. Does he have more classic albums than:

2Pac
Biggie
Bone Thugs
Outkast
Snoop Dogg
Ice Cube
Jay Z
Nas
Big Daddy Kane
KRS One
Eric B/Rakim

? Well nikkaz? :smugfavre: Somebody called this CAC the goat and c00n nikkaz just ran with it. IMHO, he only has one album that can even be remotely considered classic, which is the Marshall Mathers LP. Other than selling records because he's white and backed by the Interscope machine, what has he actually done to place himself above the ones I listed?

As for his body of work overall, i'd say it's about a 4 mic average, first two...maybe even 3 being great albums, how well they measure up to cats like pac or jay or nas really doesn't matter if you can put him and his rank in the proper perspective, I would never give him a top 5 overall nod so there is no real need for his albums to have to compare track for track with anybody on this list, his music is HIS. For arguments sake though...

Jay, nas, pac are all top 5, KRS, rakim get nods

Cube is filling out the bottom half of the top 10.

Snoop ...doggystyle was great, shout to DOC :rudy:

Biggie sits right outside of my top 10 along with em.

bone/kast are groups/duo's...KANE is one of those guys that get's a nod more so for his talent rather than some stellar body of work depending on what your criteria is.

Kool G is another cat who usually does, and should rank high MOSTLY because of his talent...I wish a nikka would try to rank a kayne west or some shyt over him because his albums are easier to listen to or some shyt, his discography isn't really his ticket into the elite class, it's his ability and influence.

No scarface? :ld:

Eminem is/was an amazing talent and regardless of how you feel about his mainstream acclaim you can't take it from him...that's no different than people claiming that jay is living off his brand rather than his output, mainstream media will always show bias toward stars, but you take that shyt away eminem at his core is still an emcees, emcee.

Yes, The way i am is better than all of those except dear momma & it's the weakest of the three i posted. :lolbron: @ Hate me. HMN is the epitome of a corny try hard hit, you know the exact same kind of single em gets descredited for. The Way I am is how you make a real fukk the world song, nas tried with one mic & hate me now but he ain't capable of making them like Pac or prime Em.

Problem with eminem is he either gets overrated (GOAT) or underrated('decent')

And there was no in-between
You either loved it or hate it

Every CD critics gave it a 3, then 3
Years later, they'd go back and re-rate it
And call the Slim Shady LP the greatest
The Marshall Mathers was a classic
The Eminem Show was fantastic
But Encore just didn't have the caliber to match it
I guess enough time just ain't passed, yet
A couple more years, that shyt'll be ill-matic

Basically shytting on wishy washy critics, whether they were for or against him.

Where the fukk do y'all live? :mindblown:

Almost every black nikka I know say they fukks with Em. I never was. Em is hands down the most respected white rapper in history across all races. What other white rapper can you think of that black people respect? :beli: 3rd Bass was lightweight corny and all the black nikkas who respected them are hella old. Black people fukk with Em more than the Beastie Boys. The Beastie Boys were just some corny ass Jewish whiteboys from New York pretending to be down. shyt, nikkas from the hood fukk with Em because you can tell he was really a broke ass whiteboy growing up on welfare bouncing back and forth from the trailer park and the hood working shytty ass low-paying jobs as an adult with nothing but blacks prolly.

Eminem is a dope MC, but once he stop doing all the gimmicks and the fake crazy stuff. his raps were just kinda boring.

I haven't listen to any of his post The Eminem Show albums more than once.

He was great for his time but He isn't one of the greats to me because he wasn't able to evovle the way MsC like Jay-Z, Nas have to still be held in high regard in different hip hop eras

All the white people are exposing their selves and their frustration for black people in this thread. Alot of the comments in here aren't even about music its about "black people do this, black people do that" yet you are on a black owned/created message board. :heh:

Why don't you go find a white message board and talk about this bullshyt. :what:

4 mics out of 5, or out of 10? :rudy: My point was people claim Em is top 5 when in reality he's not even top 10. At best I'd put him top 25, at best. The cat has like 1 good album in a career full of weedplates, I just don't get the hype, other than he's white and he can spit :manny:
