I know there's supposed to be some invisible line between support of the apartheid regime and outright racism from Reagan/Thatcher/their supporters but I don't see it. Supporting the apartheid regime just happened to be convenient politically as well as ethically for those fukks.

When the S.African government troops used merciless indiscriminate killing in the townships, the ANC organized a military wing, but the ANC militant actions were toward infrastructure, not killing of people.

Like others have said before me, Mandela and others attempted to change the system in a peaceful way. It did not happen, thus they had to resort to violence (terrorism). 100% justified violence since peaceful resistance was deemed to be criminal acts. Contrary to what was said by Khalid Muhammad, whose only contribution to the "black struggle" was appearing on morning talk show to increase his fame, Mandela actually was about that life. He had a hand in orchestrating several violent attacks, as well as pushing for Socialism/Communism in SA. He spent three decades in a prison. Since he was a man who stood against oppression, all types of oppression, he chose not be the oppressor when he finally go to power.

Truly a remarkable man.

I lived in Africa during the years of Apartheid. I don't know how the coverage was in the States but over there, we never missed a day of news from South Africa and what the White minority did to the native Black majority on a daily basis simply because of the color of their skins.

For decades, the Black majority suffered great atrocities at the hands of the White minority. Really unspeakable ones. Nelson Mandela was a product of those atrocities. He saw what these White minorities were doing to his fellow Black citizens and as any living creature would do, he rose up to fight against it. Those who don't know how the fight against Apartheid started will only talk about the violent parts of the struggle from the Black majority which came later but the fight actually started through non-violent protests on streets and peaceful demonstrations.

The White minority responded with violence against the Black majority's protests. How dare they protest being prevented from going into facilities designated for Whites only? How dare they ask to participate in the democracy that was reserved only for the White minority? How dare they ask to be treated equally in their own land?

The Black majority was pushed to the limits to say the least. And so, they reluctantly resorted to employing some of the very same tactics the White minority employed against them -- violence.

Now I read these hate-filled posts on these boards from people who apparently either did not live during the times of Apartheid, don't know the history, or simply choose to ignore that little bit of history called Apartheid which is the reason for the violence they complain Mandela and his ANC party employed. Either that or they are the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Apartheid and they miss those good 'ol days when they can drive down the streets of South Africa in search of Blacks to lynch and torture to death.

So following your suit and your vile comments on these boards, I am tempted to call you all poor excuses for human beings or pieces of human excrement but I think that is doing injustice to human excrement.
