I still browse TLR but I've taken a role as President of my workers union, I'm on the exec board for the AFL-CIO now in my area, and I've been doing a lot of organizing against police brutality at my university/community and I'm getting ready for Prelim exams but
@Data-Hawk is right. As many posts as I made about actual solution-type programs and actions we can do that I know are successful because I participate in them, there are 10 times more "c00n" "bed wench" and sambo talk disrespecting the black community and especially Black women. I've never seen a so-called Black forum disrespect our women in such a nasty way before. So I fell back. I still chop it up with many on the board who holla at me about things they can do or advice and stuff, so its all good.
But TLR has fallen so low not even I can save it. The mods/admin are sitting on their asses and letting the anti-black rhetoric fly all over the site. I'm not gonna debate with some obvious sambo and cac troll who has 4 aliases on here trying to stir shyt up; for what? Mods need to ban these clowns for good and do a zero tolerance policy on anti-black rhetoric, period. Back in 2012 TLR was fun, fresh, people woere having some great threads and arguments, very little disrespect to the black community. But by early/mid 2013, a shift started and nasty racist and demeaning posts started to flood. Mods did get rid of clowns like Kermit, but we know they still post here under aliases and spark talk against our people.
As far as militancy goes, its a sad state of affairs when typing anything that shows support for your race and refusing to bash them like sambos and cacs do is considered militancy. Very sad shyt. Mothafukkas screaming militant, racism, bedwench, c00n, etc. and don't even know what those terms mean AT ALL.
I'll never disrespect my people because we are trying to navigate a fukked up world that was constructed so that we are at a constant disadvantage. All these sambos out here screaming "black on black" violence, I ask those fukkboys to show me in Summmerhill or Mechanicsville where my people manufacture the guns and drugs? Oh yea, I forgot, the white collar cacs come into our neighborhoods with that shyt and tell a young man whose family has 3 generations of poverty that he can feed his family, what the fukk is he supposed to do? That movie "Strapped" that came out a while ago on HBO was so poignant in how these external forces, from powers like the federal government and state government continue to create conditions of violence and drugs through poverty. Again, mothafukkas need to respect the historical context. Every single fukking black gang in America in the 1950s-1970s was all about what? Building and protecting the community, feeding the poor, stopping police violence, etc. So why did gangs start killing each other? Federal government did three things: 1)they hired agents to infiltrate groups and start beefs; 2)they brought in the guns and drugs EN MASSE. Not a few guns or drugs, but enough to flood the block. 3)They shut down social service programs that were WORKING for blacks. Between 1950 and 1969, the black unemployment rate dropped, and communities were building stronger and sustainable programs etc. But by the mid 1970s, the neoliberal theorists said fukk that shyt, they need to be making money for the capitalists, and BOOM, the new Nadir started in 1978. These oppressive, colonial issues in our communities have a historical context that cannot bee ignored, but sambos never refer to the foundation, they only refer to the superficial, or what they can see from their safe suburban neighborhoods. I grew up in that shyt, and just because I'm getting a PhD, I didn't "make it out." I'm never leaving my people because they are my people and I will die fighting with and for my people and the truth is, the 12% of Black elites that separated themselves from the black masses will never understand what real poverty and restriction to resources feels like, and that's why they talk that sambo shyt and call us "militant" for caring about the human rights violations against our people that is constitutive to this nation's founding.
Shout out to all the brothers and sisters on here that remain supportive of ALL OF OUR PEOPLE. Not just the select few who got the opportunities and resources, but ALL OF OUR PEOPLE who are fighting a war against a nasty enemy.
@Elle Driver knows the deal and we not fukking around, we are fighting with our people everyday and if you never been in the real black community in Atlanta, Chicago, Milwaukee, LA, etc. don't say shyt about us. Come build community with us.
