Weed was never my thing so I'm ignorant. But I was under the assumption they stopped criminalizing weed smokers because of legalization laws.

Also, I am pretty sure carrying marijuana in NYC is now a disorderly conduct as opposed to anything with real consequences. Last time I went to court, nobody had repercussions for anything involving weed, and everyone in there had something with marijuana going on.

foreal i just got off of a year probation for weed. 10 weeks of drug classes 30 bucks a class. i didn't have any priors so it was unsupervised probation. never met my probation officer. never had to take a drug test except one time at drug classes. but through my probation officer i never took a drop. i just called an automated number every month to check in. smoked all year and quit for the last month. didn't even have to go in and sign anything. they mailed my discharge papers.
