Second, it's winter Halloween for them minus the costumes. I don't remember shyt romantic just "be my valentine" cards (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean) and chocolate/candy

I was always 0 and 20 with VDay even during marriage:

• In 3th grade, the substitute teacher was getting married to another man
• In 6th grade, the girl I wanted to be with ran so fukking fast like she knew I had a valentine's day gift for her
• In 7th grade, I was lonely
  
• 8th grade, I had no hoes
• 9th grade, I gave my girl at the time an India Aire CD and some candy, and she just gave me a hug
• Young adult years barely no hoes
• Early marriage years- "You know I don't like stuff animals, I'm not a girly girl"

Part of socialization and I think probably not needed. Kids have the WORST relationships in middle school and high school, most of the time. Abusive, and controlling, it's where people learn bad traits. Pumping up kids to select the one person they love, when they don't even know a little ass kid. Like they eat the same chips or something.

Too immature, and trying to mirror pop culture and adults, who don't even get it right, because it's some hard shyt.

I remember getting all kinds of Valentines, but it was an uneasy time. Like trophies at sports, MOST IMPROVED. They had teachers giving Valentines to the whole class, but a lot of kids were selective. Even dating girls in middle school I was like what am I supposed to be doing? I just wanted to run around with my homies in 6th/7th grade. One girl used to call my house like I was "cheating" like where are you/who are you with, and I was just playing ball with my boys lol I had no idea about any of that
