I be thinkin to myself..."Damn..." look at all these nkkas up outta here.

The culture is feelin the effects, of losing an ENTIRE generation of rappers/artists, and specifically MUSIC....

Pop Smoke - dead
Xxxtentacion - dead
JuiceWorld - dead
Nipsey - dead
Young Dolph - dead
King Von - dead
Pooh Shiesty - locked
Kay Flocka - locked
Big Scarr - dead
YFN Lucci - locked
Thugga - locked
Bankroll Fresh - dead
HoneyKomb Brazy - locked
Sheff G - locked
Foogiano - locked
PnB Rock - dead
Takeoff - dead
Mo3 - dead
Troy Ave - self-sabotage/snitch-jacket
Real Boston Richey - snitch-jacket
Tory Lanez - self-sabotage/locked
Gunna - snitch-jacket/(but fightin thru)

Look at ALL these nkkas. :hhh:

AND NONE of these nkkas were slouches. These aren't sidekick, obscure rappers. They should all be hittin their strides right now, and everyone was BUZZIN. All of these dudes were on FIRE, at the time of their demise, influential, or the next thing smokin outta their region. So how many collabs, features, and bangers, are lost with all these artists??? IMO, Pop was the biggest loss, and was likely to shift (and spearhead) the sound, back to NY. Sheff G and Kay Flocka, are MAJOR blows to NY. NY is basically finished at this point, with all the upcoming artists, gone or jammed up. Sorry...but Fivio or a Lil T'jay can't carry the torch. :camby:

NYC definitely lost an entire generation, of music (nd this isn't to say I'm a drill fan)...its just FACTS. :yeshrug:

I'm sure folks could post a few artists, who weren't, or aren't necessarily buzzing mainstream...BUT who are bubblin in their city/region, and one hit away, from takin off mainstream. For example a Leaf Ward (Philly), or Coach Da Ghost (NYC)...both locked, but the type of nkkas, who STAY duckin or dodging street politics and/or jammed TF up wit the law. :francis:

These young nkkas being so reckless, is costing the industry/culture right now.
Everyone is worried about the street shyt and clout-chasing, versus the artistry, and BAG. :mjlol:

So again...I don't buy that the culture is dying...its just a major void right now, which is being felt. I fux wit Yak, Finesse, Rob49, Durk, Glo, and a few other artists. Put them in concert, with all the dead, or incarcerated artists, and the landscape would be completely different right now.

Here's what happened

Actual gang members have been recruited as recording artists by record companies.

As much as people say they look down on studio gangstas, what we have now is the result of using real gangstas.

And don't forget the youth that get caught up in tryna live up to these examples.

In short, the whole industry has been misguided for decades now. And it's falling apart.
