Uneducated about the African diaspora? I suggest you google Afro-Latinas...

I am obviously black, as you can see... and proudly so
No, you are Afro-Latina

You are not Black....

Are you a direct descendent of North American slavery?
uh.... I'm a descendent of slavery in Puerto Rico. Do you tell black Jamaicans and Haitians they aren't black?
Yup... They are African Caribbean... Blacks share more cultural ties with Jamaicans and hell even Haitians than they do with Puerto Ricans and/or Dominicans/Cubans
Ah shyt

Latin is not a culture actually, many people who are Spanish-speakers find that to be erasure of their black ancestry (and indigenous) and prefer to be called black. It's akin to a black American being referred to as "English". And no, black is not the culture of African Americans, it's existed well before then.

A majority of Spanish speaking Latinos are readily eliminating their African ties...they not running around here calling themselves indigenous or even Mestizos...but they should be considered Black? They are not Black...and to your other point, African culture existed... Black culture is Afram...

There are distinct cultural groups... There is nothing wrong with having the distinctions...

You need to educate yourself and expand horizons. Much like African Americans had a culture forced on them, so did "Latinos". Makes no difference, English, Spanish, French, Portugese them all slave masters languages. Africa is a continent, hence there were black civilizations. Black culture existed before the New World and chattel slavery and it occurred everywhere, Cuba for instance where Santeria is practiced draws from Yoruba influences.

In saying all that, AA/Black Americans do not have a monopoly on blackness. Period.

An overly emasculated society. Women now have too much power and privilege and this is pretty much why our society is going down the toilet :francis:

I am well aware of different African cultures and because I deny ones claim to my cultural group does not mean that I am uneducated nor that I haven't expanded my horizons....There were a variety of cultures and distinct civilizations within Africa... Tribal wars were fought based upon ethnic groups and cultural ties...many of which included language/dialect, religious practices and genetics

We not going around saying Cubans who practice Santeria (which is also in Mexico) are Yorubans now are we...:martin:

And all those tribes and ethnicities were black. :ohhh:

Get off ya high horse boo. :francis: Your blackness is tied to Africa as a descendant of slaves from the New World, and you're not unique in that, cause Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Dominicans, Brazilians, even Mexicans (yes Afro-Mexicans) are black.

Miguel Nunez is Dominican and Puerto Rican, he's not black? :comeon:
