and what I've noticed is that allot of them take their hats off right when they go inside the store
and then put it right back on, as soon as they leave the store.
It seems like a automatic protocol thing.

That's one of the few things I miss about the military. Getting discounts and free meals. I've been out for almost ten years and wore my old uniform to a restaurant in a white part of town and got a free meal because some old cac paid for it.

Yep. Not the restaurant itself but other customers. They would be like "thank you for your service" "thanks for keeping us safe." Funny thing was I never deployed to Iraq or Afghanistanthey did that for real?
