North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
White boomers pretty much had a head start on everything. They benefited from racism which kept black oriole way behind. They benefited from buying homes for cheap, getting good jobs and cheap/free education.

In the 80’s they benefited from reganomics and fhe rise of the modern Wall Street. While drugs flooded black communities.

Because we think outside the box, and change things. Long hair, and beards on men used to be unacceptable in corporate settings, until millennials made up most of the positions, and began all these startups, and making the workplace more casual.

We prefer remote work, because we understand the stress of being in an office, and all the office politics. Boomers think that’s lazy.

Thats a great thing. Having facial hair and remote work is a GODSEND to your sanity :blessed:

What are black millennials talking about on how to carry on the black lineage?

Black Millennials are tackling mental health and not with the bucking/bedwenching and are the main ones that are talking about breaking the cycle of mental slavery from the Crack Era onwards.

Y'all are going to die childless because what you're talking about fixing will take a couple generations to fix. Another flaw of millennials, major lack of foresight.

Clearly, the babies are still being born out of wedlock, but I am seeing more couples stay together, and raise the child in the same household, which is an improvement. But I’m only seeing this on the lower middle class level. I’m not sure that’s happening on the low income level, where they shouldn’t be having kids they can’t afford in the first place.

Gen Y not with the superthug fukkery that Gen X was dabbling with. We also understand that being on code and having black fathers present for their kids is vitally important.

You can point out the faults of previous generations, good. But what you're saying, and whats actually going on aren't lining up. The most important element, the black millennial/gen z man/woman relationship, is looking ugly. You pointing out material stuff that comes and go with time. How you relate with the opposite sex within the tribe you're trying to create with is paramount. And you have absolutely no clue on how thats going to get fix. You know this.

Gen X

1965- 1981

57 years old to 41 years old

Gen Y

1982-1996

40 years old to 26 years old

That’s a big generalization from you. Make it make sense.
Millenials born in the 1990s are closer to Gen z

Millenials born in the 1980s are closer to Gen X

Gen X started in 1965.. Gen Y started in 1981.. Gen X could start having kids in 78, a little earlier.. So yes, Gen X are the parents of millennials. And Boomers as well.
This I know a lot of Gen X parents with millenial kids.

He'll no. Gen Y organized the protests on Wall Street in 2011.
Them millenials born in the 1980s who organized the occupy Wall Street protests on 2011, not the 90s ones

I gotta be 1 of the few nikkas who believe this Generation shyt dont apply to Blacks
Even in this thread U got folks blaming Boomers but Boomers was dealing with Jim Crow, they had it hard more than anybody in recent times:laff:

Gen X to Gen Z has the same mentality and actions in the Black Community... :mjpls:

Folks blame Boomers because they were largely raised in two parent households yet jumped off most of the issues we see today. Silent Generation were the ones dealing with Jim Crow. Boomers were more sheltered from it. And there are small tensions when you see that a large number of black Boomers were inheriting houses and had more monetary assistance and given much more opportunities from their two parent households than they let on.:yeshrug:
