Real talk. I was browsing various websites looking to purchase SF Anniversary Collection and I noticed that the Switch version is almost double the price of the PS4.

Then I remembered doom running at half the framerate and a dynamic resolution is selling for twice the price of Xbox PS4.

Now I know somebody would say Nintendo tax but what other reasons are Nintendo charge more for less.

I believe they put a lot of work pushing Doom to Switch, so I'm not sure if how it runs compared to PS4 and Xbox is a factor in the pricing. And what was the original cost of Doom on PS4 and Xbox when it first came out? Either way I don't know why the price for Doom hasn't dipped yet, but I've seen other multiplats dip in prices or at least fluctuate. I got Xenoverse 2 for a great deal few months after release.

But since SF collection released on all platforms at the same time, I really don't know why it's costing more on switch than the other platforms.

edit: I just googled and best buy is selling SF for 50 bucks for all platforms. is there some sale going on?

E3 sale price? Although I thought it launched at that price.

Multiplat games are the same as HD ports, they are bound to make money the second time around so they charge accordingly. It's not a copy and paste job, but it doesn't warrant full price, especially if the game has lowered fps.

Nintendo has always been a more expensive brand. Whether it's them selling old ports at full price, never putting anything on sale, charging an arm and leg for peripherals etc. It's their thing it seems :yeshrug:

My guess is:

1. Nintendo charging heavy license fees, a practice that started when the NES blew up and/or

2. Studios recovering the extra dough/manpower to make a Switch version with completely different hardware.

you are saying that the games for the Switch runs better than the ones on ps4 or xbox? LOL

i read somewhere that people are already playing pirated games on the system. you might as well do that too since you think games are over priced. i know i would.

i was planning to buy a switch myself but then i told myself that it is not worth it.

It’s honestly ridiculous how badly Nintendo is price gouging on switch. There is no reason for their controllers and accessories to cost as much as they do.

them lil ass carts cost more than discs.

and that's before they're gonna start pushing the higher capacity version of the carts

In the case of LA Noire where half of the game had to be downloaded while the other 15 GB is on the cart, is their $50 release price justified?

Didn't it retail for $39.99? I could be wrong, but I think that's worth it for all the work involved bringing it over.
