65% of all of Em's rhymes are gibberish. He has strong points and some songs where he comes through but to me he's just a rappity rappin' ass overachieving, overmarketed cac. to me he's more of an empty lyrical one trick pony than an actual MC. he puts words together well, but aside from his psychotic white boy antics that only psychotic cacs can relate to, he never really says shyt. he just whines about why he doesn't get a pass and reminds you he's a crazy white boy that raps and has taken over another form of black culture.

like i said in reality he's a novelty, because if he wasn't white and he rapped how he rapped about the shyt he rapped about and was shoved down the masses throats the way Em' was, we would've EARLY. people don't want to admit that him being a cac and perfectly marketed plays such a major part in his "success". It's easy to be successful when the cacs in control want you to be and spend millions to ensure that you are.

Give me enough time and motivation and I could pick apart 90% of the game and reduce whatever it is they do down to some talking points to support whatever. I could even do it with 2pac who is my absolutely favorite rapper of a time.

What percentage of Ghost's rhymes are gibberish, how many times he gonna make the same album?, what percentage of jay's rhymes are frivolous? It really doesn't matter because those artists do what they do, you have to judge them in their own space IMO, so I really hate playing this deflection game with stans, and clowns trying to shift the argument outside of what's being discussed.

Much like Pac, The biggest factor in him being what he is today and even at the height of his career is about resonance. Regardless of how you may want to be dismissive of how he injected his his personal life into his music, THAT is the reason his fan base is like it is. Discounting that on the basis that it doesn't resonate with you in particular doesn't mean it goes out the window, or that you can invalidate the talent it takes to do so. This is equivalent to clowns on here claiming that nikkas only loved pac that much because they were fatherless and looking for role models or some shyt.

Even a song like "brain dammage" has layers of "real" shyt underneath the "gibberish" and comes from an honest place. YOU not being able to relate doesn't some how make him less of an artist.

I used ghost as another example as to why an artist needs to be discussed/appreciated/depreciated within his own space, which is why the TS deserves a neg.

And I don't see how he doesn't fit at least within my argument, he's one of the greats and will probably be brought up in that same pool of artists. I'm not comparing them stylistically or commercially, i'm saying that grading Jay-z or ghost face's approach and artistic expression against some one else's beyond your preference is probably going to lead to some flimsy ass argument.

The Jimmy Iovine effect is enough to sell whichever artist they want to the masses....Em', 50, Kendrick all come from the Interscope/Aftermath factory. They are products of millions invested in marketing, branding and advertising. This is not to say they don't have skill, but we all know sales and skill are entirely two different arenas in the industry. Jimmy Iovine literally makes stars just like all the other industry big wigs. You think any of this shyt is by chance would be really fukking stupid and naive. Artists are nothing more than investments to these people. They put money in and get money out. They put a team around you that understands psychology, social engineering and they build a very strategic, detailed and surefire way to sell you. Eminem is the greatest product that the Hip Hop industry has ever assembled. Marshall Mathers was a marketer's dream. Nobody looked back and noticed how TRL launched the same time Eminem did and it was basically HIS show (along with N'Sync, Backstree, Britney and all the other POP acts?) He wasn't Hip Hop from the jump. He wasn't being played on the hip hop stations ever. He was played on popular music stations and TRL. His fans were young, white, teenage rebelious ripe consumers. They needed an idol. They needed to totally capture the white pop generation that the Beastie Boys couldn't fully do in the late 80's. But around the mid and late 90's' Hip Hop slowly began creeping in places it wasn't supposed to. Heather and Conner were becoming interested in Wu Tang more than Metallica....not all, but enough for industry heads to know that black artists influencing their perfect lily white generation might be problematic when it comes to who's asserting and influences power in the next generation. Marshall Mathers is a product. He was a battle rapper that was perfect for the role they wanted him to fill and he got it. He won the rapper lottery....probably the biggest one ever. Can her rap? Sure he can rap his rappity fukking raps. He can craft rhymes together well....but trust and beleive it wasn't easy for him to sell because he was white. He was designed and destined to sell millions of records because he was the product they built him to be. They presented him in on a platform they knew would make him the most accessible. I was in 6th grade when "My Name Is dropped" and I remember being like "oh shyt, a white boy who raps" but the white kids saw their new demi-god and gateway drug into the world of hip hop....all of a sudden now he's the GOAT?
