Why do new dishwashers not have a "dry cycle only" function?

These new "energy standards" are so damn garbage on modern appliances :mindblown:

These ridiculous machines only let you use the DRY ONLY function after running through a damn wash cycle :dahell:

Why do I need to wait 1-7 hours (depending on the cycle) just to dry out my dishwasher? :gucci:

You can't find ANY new dishwashers with this feature!

You used to be able to just TURN ON THE DRYER ...NO PROBLEM! EASY! SIMPLE!

I swear I'd go back to the 90s if I could and keep the old ones just to be able to dry my damn dishes :snoop:

These modern machines are just susceptible to promoting having stale water sit around even when they're clean until you're forced to clean them out by running cycles!

I remember growing up NEVER having to clean out a dishwasher this much. :wow:

Now I'm cleaning this thing preemptively twice a week! :stopitslime:

Got damn breh

:russ: sounds like it's less work to just hand-wash em
it is!

Basically all that ever happened was just putting them in the dishwasher to dry instead of taking up counter space... ALWAYS been that way.

The old dish washers were set up where you could just hit the dry function and it would just stay on. Now these new ones FORCE you to go through an entire cycle just to enter the dry function.

These new joints though just never can just be closed and dry you just over time have these damp dishes sitting in there without being fully dry if you dont leave the door wide open.

its infuriating.

I remember growing up, we never used the dishwasher. We just hand washed, and air dryed them dishes.

We just bought a new dishwasher a month ago. I’ll have to check and see if ours has the dry option

What's "new"? You mention going back to the 90's..... but mines (basic whirlpool) has to be less than ten years old and i just turned the dial to the dry cycle lmao. got my kitchen all steam up for no good reason :ehh:

Plus there's never any water sitting around after dry in mine, unless a bowl got turned right side up and is holding some then spills when I take it out. But if that's the case I'm not gonna do a dry cycle, I'm gonna sponge it up :ye:

odd thread...odd dishwasher
