It was some shyt made up recently by 1st generation OCKs who inherited bodegas in the hood form their blood sucking leech parents.

let's not get ahead of ourselves, a chopped cheese still slaps after a night hittin the bars 
but it's still the choice of the NY transplant..I always say brehs back then would more go for a turkey and cheese with everything, we ain't never heard of no chopped cheese before it came out of Harlem recently

I'm from NYC, and I've only eaten Chopped Cheese once. It's not as popular in every part of NYC as outsiders think it is 
BLT (Bacon Lettuce Tomato) and Bacon Egg & Cheese are WAY more popular when it comes to Deli sandwiches
