Most places didn't even have high rises, first of all, and the 70s killings happened before they were populated.
Explain LA, DC, and places like Kansas city where most of the killings happened outside of detached single family homes, row houses, and 2 story standard apts?

They were populated in the 70s because thats where a lot of the migrants moved into looking for work in the cities.

And as for your second question I'll cut straight to the chase. Any place you have black and disenfranchised black people living together, they're going to kill one another. All nationalities are somewhat subject to this.

When you move people away from one another, lock them up, or they die from the violence, the murder rate goes down. Thats until another generation picks up the tradition. On your own, look up the murder rate from 50 years ago and parallel it with the population rate.

example: Washington D.C:

YearTotalblack
1980638,333448,229
1990606,900399,604
2000572,059343,312
2010601,723305,125

Same rings true for Los Angeles. Look them up, I don't have to post them numbers because you know blacks not growing in these cities.

The main reasons it was a lot of murders in the 80s and 90s was because nikkas was stacked in cages like animals in numerous projects back then. Do y'all just quote stats and not look at the reasons why the stats are the way they are?

A fact is a fact. I could have dig deeper but the facts are people were still killing they just fought a bit more. Plus you also have the fact that many of us including me lived through it and can see what’s going on today also. And folks are still stacked in many urban environments. They were also stacked in the 50s/60s/70s.

Still doesn’t change the fact that folks don’t keep it real when they act like folks only used to fight in the 80s-90s.

I also detest folks talking about the rules of the game. Those rules were always broken when it benefited someone. Folks have been snitching.

Whats going on is the older generation is digging in on the younger generation about how much they shoot 1st and don't fight. I know where all of this stems from, and the younger dudes getting frustrated, then they run and grab stats and don't have a nuanced perspective of them. People did fight more back then, but the guns came out all the time over drug territory.. A lot of people came from the south to the north looking for work. They found themselves in affordable/low income housing areas waiting for the factory jobs. The factories closed and the drugs came in, so of course the violence over drugs and territory was heated. And a lot of these people were in their 20s BTW.. Sure you had people die over stupid shyt then too, no honest person can deny that..

But got damn this shyt now seems a bit overkill now. Its like its more killing over petty shyt than over real shyt. And you can see it because its posted on social media everyday. A teen says something on line, and the 1st thing the disrespected one does is go shoot the kid up and give no fcks about who's in the way. And granted, shyt like that isn't new, but it was kind of rare. If it happened, it wouldn't happen again until next summer.

Teenagers settling disputes with pistols wasn't a thing 40 years ago. Thats really my issue.

-While I agree with most of what you said in here, there were no projects in my hood. Respect, money & women were the main reasons for violence & people weren't throwing hands once gangs & drugs came through.

Wrong again, and everywhere isn't chicago, nor were most of the homicides in high rises.
East Palo Alto, a tiny suburb full of single family homes, had the highest murder rate in the country in 1992.
