i used to get emotional when pac was never given his due. toure and dream hampton used to write long form journalism about him cause he was the most magnetic figure, but they still shytted on him musically.

a lot of the pac hate started with east coast journalists. thats where music journalism was mostly based. places like village voice, spin, rolling stone. they consistently shytted on pac as a rapper. and it stuck i guess. i guess they felt the ny style was more sophisticated or something. but as time passed, pac is the peoples champ. and song for song, for the non pretentious rap fan, he is probably the best catalogue. and to do it in a short space of time is even more impressive.


what bugs me though is even with more cac rap critics embracing anti- traditional ny hip hop, and embracing cats like future, pimp c etc, they still dont fx with pac. its like the traditionalists hate him, as well as the post-ny golden era cats. he cant hang with rakim, or pimp c.

its like they out to get him.
