Why do people act like there isn't a difference between lightskinded and biracial?

I said a lightskin black, not black biracial. The biracial girl insisted that the lightskin black woman was biracial even though she said she was black. The biracial girl pretty much said she doesn't know she is biracial by the judgement of how she looks instead of the facts that both her parents are black.

Honestly it seems like nowadays people don't even know what light skin is. Calling women like Beyoncé, Rihanna or Nicki light skinned. In some cases biracial/mixed people can look similar to lighter skinned Black people like Tisha Campbell(light skinned) and Alicia Keys(mixed) but when it comes to women like Tori Hughes and Lolo Wood it's painfully obvious they're biracial.
