Regarding bold when most people say "all things equal" in this discussion usually mean both cats aren't trained fighters. That's what I usually hear when talking about this not height and weight but in fairness people usually are only talking about people that aren't trained fighters when this comes up.Yep Jones doesn't have punching power either. He's tall but thin as fukk yet he's stood with, ate shots from and beaten dudes with more punching power & mass (Glover, Rampage, Hendo, TRT Vitor, DC, Machida). He pretty much embodies this thread.
Another fight that displays it well is Nick Diaz vs Evanglista Cyborg. Those fukkboys at youtube took the fight down tho
breh the all things equal line of thought can be said for any advantage, it means pretty much nothing. Besides there are so many variables and attributes in a fight, a situation where all but one thing is equal never happens. People say "all things equal" but only account for 2 factors, height and weight![]()
The thing about early UFC's, is that Rorion Gracie hand picked the competitors. Royce faced people he was leaps and bounds above who he faced as far as skill. Yes, he fought some pretty good wrestlers in Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock, but if both had knowledge in BJJ, Royce would have been crushed.
Speed and skill usually trump power.
He said all things being equal, meaning all things being equal then give one side more size and strength and the stronger person usually wins.I've seen numerous fights that refute your statement my G

Things only heard onlineBigger is more intimidating and stronger.
There is however a body size in which, it doesn't matter how knowledgeable and experienced you are, your fighting ability actually decreases. Because mass means weight, and weight requires a greater mastery of the body in order to be efficient.
A 270+lbs jacked dude doesn't scare me as much as a 160-200 lbs jacked dude.
Well,I took boxing and martial arts and they always told us never fight angry.because you lose self discipline and you begin to fight wild
Have you ever been punched in the face by a guy that bench presses 450?I'm fairly skinny and I've fought numerous people who are considered brolic in my lifetime , though some I lost , I also won alot as well and I've seen numerous instances where the skinny kid emerges victor when them and the brolic cat gets into it . When it's all said and done you gotta add alot of factors beside size like agility , dexterity etc if your severely lacking in one of those departments it's a high chance you might walk off the scene with a L . That's why that size rah rah never phased me , nikkas be looking like brock lesnar but their hands be atrocious .
There's a distinction between size & strength though , you can't determine that off someones physique .Have you ever been punched in the face by a guy that bench presses 450?
You could be Bruce Lee, and that fist connecting with the side of your head would land you in the hospital.
That's why they equate brute strength with knowing how to "win" a fight.
