My childhood was great...from what I can remember. No point on taking me on all these vacation when I'm a toddler and wont remember any of that sh1t.
well I went out west as a young child to places like wyoming, north dakota, yellowstone national park etc and I remember a great deal of it and it's some of my fondest childhood memories.

I've been told when you have kids your focus in life revolves around them, so I'd imagine it should be hard to enjoy yourself away from your young, dependent children for a couple days on vacation, while living it up like you never had them.

A kid probably won't remember the whole trip but he might experience something that he'll carry with him for the rest of his life
I don't remember much of my frequent Cali trips when I was young but all I know is all my life I've always lived a west coast lifestyle on the east coast, grew up pretty much listening to all west coast music, now I wear pretty much only all over print shirts and Hawaiian style shirts, always goin to beaches, I fukkin love swimming in chillin outside in the sun, 40s & weed man ask anyone about me and they tell you they thought I was from the west coast. Couple months ago On the bus this bad lightskin joint out of nowhere asked me if I was from Hawaii. Like off the random.
You never know what's gonna have an influence on you so it's better to try to experience as much as you can. Makes you a more worldly person

And you think thats because of some trips that you made as a young child that you dont even remember?
I was probably 3 or 4. And yes I do. I have a really good memory. I remember a lot of stuff from even younger ages.

My first international travel was at the age of 4, and I remember everything including my pink panther carry on, how to greet the flight attendants, currency, what to say to people who look different than you, different greetings around the world, etc.
I don't have any kids, but I have a hard time vacationing domestically in the U.S. now without bringing along my (small) dogs. I just miss them and I don't trust the dog sitter (older dog has spinal issues). We are really looking into a small RV for road trips.
I know I'm going to have major separation anxiety the first time I travel without my (future) child. I think part of the pleasure of vacationing would be to spend time with my little one and see how they interact with their new surroundings.

I agree. I was in Dominican Republic last month and saw families with their young children acting a fool in restaurants at the resorts. Leave your lil bundles of joy at home and let people enjoy their vacations without all that fukkin crying and screaming.
