Why do people dislike Blu?

Seriously when I ask people why they don't like Blu's music they often tell me cause he's boring or cause he is a junkie.. but they never bumped anything beyond Below The Heavens.

Seriously dude has 7 amazing projects out!






It doesn't matter to me if the dude is a huge junkie,fukks up his live shows,has 3 unmastered albums (Which makes it feel even jazzier and classic) or if he bores some of y'all ADHD drill rap kiddies. Blu is one of the GOATS no matter what.

Blu is super talented but he'll forever be looked at as an underwhelming artist because his career didn't take off in the trajectory that it should have after Below The Heavens. IMO, he's one of my personal GOATs purely because of HerFavouriteColo(u)r. The emotion and motif that was captured on that album is amazing.

We're not talking gossip and shennanegians here, we're talking about when ones person demons or addictions affect their legacy in a negative manner when it comes to professionalism. A professional artist has a certain responsibility to uphold their brand. When Blu fukks up a show because he's drugged the fukk out then what fans are going to keep paying to see that? What fans are going to take time out to listen to a project that isn't properly mixed/mastered and literally sounds like he recorded it in a leaky bathroom? You can have all the talent in the world but when people stop fukking with you then what do you have left?


Blu is an amazing artist. But he's fukked up his own legacy. He had an incredible launching pad with Below The Heavens, has had chances that most artists never get and opportunities that most artists will never see. But he fukked it up
