I really don't see the harm. When you love something/someone you like to fawn over it/them. As long as it doesn't go beyond the parents means what it the big deal.
Where I'm from, it does most of the time.
My best friend in elementary school, my next door neighbor (free him)...Son was in a situation like that.
Dude's mom is a lesbian barber who got into a gang of hood shyt, lived with her mom.
He always had the freshest gear, freshest haircuts (of course), newest toys...
Son was a slow reader, ended up getting into the streets, started bloodin, now he's locked up for life because the shooter in a lick he hit put the whole blame on him. Did him being spoiled in one way (and not the other) have an effect on his life? I think so.
Here's what happens (and it kinda happened to me):
When you're a little kid, fly gear is a little cheaper, and it's oh so cute. As you grow, things get more expensive, and the parents have to work harder to get them. Some stop.
If you've had fly gear the whole time, and you're used to it...you want to maintain that.
Mama ain't buying it anymore, so where you gonna get the money?
A Kroger's job isn't going to cut it.
When people dress their kids like that, they're setting a standard. Nobody wants to downgrade.
