Why do people drive without wearing a seatbelt?

cant believe no one has posted the bullshyt excuses i hear about seatbelts: "What if I was to drive off a bridge and couldnt get the seatbelt off while the car was sinking?

when im in the back of a taxi or something I foolishly hardly ever wear a seat belt but when im driving or in passenger seat im always wearing one. Aint tryna fly through no window

I don't wear one, never have, I've been in 6 car accidents. I don't do it to be cool I just have this fear of getting into a accident and not being able to get out of the car because of it

a few years ago my boy (RIP Keem) and his wife were in a car accident. He was wearing a belt and his wife wasn't. She was thrown through the windshield and away from the car so she made it. My boy, held in place by the belt, was hit from all angles and the car overturned four times. Died as paramedics arrived at the scene.

been in 6 car accidents? I don't think wearing a seat belt is what's wrong with your driving but I don't have the details of the accidents to comment tho.

I didn't wear one until my friend got killed when we were 20. The girl that was driving had hers on, he didn't- she lost control and he got ejected- hit a concrete highway divider

It sounds stupid, but it took that to happen for me to really be convinced to wear one.
