Why do people freak out and act like every baby is the first one they've ever seen?

I have no kids but I feel like people out babies on a high ass pedestal for no reason

I've seen coworkers and others worship them

No hate I don't have any kids so maybe I don't understand or maybe I am a grumpy old man.

I obviously understand the hype but some people literally go crazy over newborns lol

My cousin was mad that I ain't come see the baby in the hospital

I said I'll just come spend the day when they're all home. We can get lunch and hangout etc...instead of a quick hour hospital visit. I live an hour away

Because of evolution. Babies have no survival skills other than looking cute to lure in someone who can feed and protect them.
