Why do people get luxury cars when they KNOW they can’t afford repairs?

So, the engineering that goes into M-B cars is great. You repair whatever and that repaired thing is not going to fail for a long time. But, the entire car has various things that will break down over time, brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, etc. If you repair an engine seal, its going to last for tens of thousand of miles, but that doesn't prevent other things like the alternator, air conditioner, motor mounts, brakes from needing repair or replacement.
Compare the cost of a Mercedes-Benz motor mount to a Mazda one. It's like double the cost. Does the same thing, it holds the motor up and absorbs engine vibration.

from my experience bmws are terrible cars, they over heat etc

Benz drive forever, but thats only S class, I don't know about those other cars

and the S class is the only benz considered luxury

That's b.s. breh. It's mostly circumstantial. I've seen gms be all around more reliable than Honda, Toyota. Lsx/t56 dont get put into everything for no reason. Toyota's burn oil and hondas(used to) have shyt auto transmissions

You better be using amsoil. Almost got an isf but the suspension sucks and the tailpipes are hideous. Sound great and is quick in a line. The build quality was also great.

Ls engines predominantly. I wouldn't buy a mopar if it was 50% off. Ford is iffy but they produce better cars/ trucks than honda/Toyota could ever dream of. Tocoma is a very solid truck, though... just gutless

When I think of luxury, I'm thinking Rolls-Royce, Maserati, etc.

dude there are car tiers man... you have the basic, then the muscle, then the luxury, then the super then the hyper.... Rolls is between the luxury and super car range...

Nah a rolls is in its own class and the same could be said about a range rover and hence in why both cars are desirable and expensive to maintain.
With cars it is more about the specification and the optional features so by having heated steering wheel,factory paint,ride quality,modern touch screen infotainment system,panoramic roof and the quality of the materials such as the leather/hide and the veneer.
A standard 3 series is just a premium sedan but when you go to a dealership and add on every single feature on the list you get the more premium or standard luxury features that would consider a 3 series as luxury car within its own class.

:patrice: idk fam... All I do know is that for each car with the type of card they build them as and the price is how you classify them. I classify rolls Royce as hyper luxury...
