Why do people get mad at waiters for wanting/expecting tips?

Entitlement. Waiters and people in the service industry are deluded folk. Rather than turning their grievances to their incapability of landing a decent paying job OR the individual responsible for their wages, its on me. The consumer, a person who goes to an establishment and expects the cost of my food covers my meal and service. Once you point this flaw you are demonized by a platoon of server chicks and their deluded beta chumps. Case in point, Jay Z he tipped his establishment 9K but still some hoe had the audacity to say it wasn't enough. Pay 100 for a meal and get finessed for another 40 dollars brehs.

Then just eat somewhere that pays their employees atleast minimum wage.

It’s such a simple fix and would stop the complaints

Above the fray.
Shouldn’t people be angry at the business for paying them less than minimum wage? :jbhmm:

You’re walked into that business knowing the person serving you gets paid less than minimum wage and relies on tips.

If you hate the business model that much then stop eating at those establishments
Agree. if you don't want to tip......go to a fast food restaurant....or a takeout joint.

a lot of times when i go out, i get servers with shytty attitude (the females are the worst :usure:) who are white and expect a black man like me NOT to tip :mjpls:, and i absolutely DON'T because they are very unwelcoming from the get go because of their false assumption. I typically talk to their manager about their attitude and let them know that i worked in the service industry and usually tip well, but the current server has an attitude for no reason and i request another server. I always tip the new smiling server well (they are always overly nice probably because they knew i called out the other server). i tip the new server %20+ with CASH in FRONT of the other server with attitude to show them that they're wrong with their assumption and they LOST. the manager will either comp the whole meal or give me free meal coupons in the future as well :jawalrus:.

And the business model is going to keep existing, forcing them to rely on tips, if you continue to eat there
but im not the one who has a problem with the business model or remuneration system. they are.

but guess what, deep down, most waiters prefer the system the way it is because if they got regular minimum wage and no tips, it would end up being less then what they get now. so they would rather be at the mercy of the customers since they end up ahead on average. which is cool. as long as you take the good with the bad which they tend not to accept because of the entitlement mentality (hence the bytching from them)

The service industry is really shady when it comes to employees. Sometimes tips are the only $$ servers see but some joints make the servers pay bouncer/chefs with their tip in the form of tip outs. The business model needs to change many businesses are taking advantage of their employees. I tip appropriately. If i dont have enough i dont go out too eat. Leave your broke ass at home.

The Truth
I honestly don’t understand people who don’t tip.

Only time I don’t tip is if I get takeout and I have to drive my ass up there
