Why do people go on cruises without knowing how to swim?

Most people who know how to swim don’t know how to swim in open waters. That’s what life vests and life boats are for
TBF, some boats end up missing without a trace due to the Bermuda Triangle
. Like you are enjoying a splendid meal with the love of your life, buttoned up shirt, dress shorts, and sandals with the fat toes down from the diving board.Next thing you know, you are in a weird water paradox unlike nothing that's ever seen in human existence.

The whole thing about "knowing how to swim" is there's a difference between knowing how to swim in a 6-10ft pool at a hotel and "really" knowing how to swim as in being in a giant lake/ocean with hundreds if not thousands of "nothingness" below you.
Swimming and swimming in the middle of the ocean are VASTLY different things…
