He only lost Randle and Young to the draft 2014. 2015 he had Willie Cauley-Stein, Dakari Johnson, Alex Poythress, Marcus Lee, and the harrisons come back. Only freshman on that team was Kat, booker, and lyles.

Edit: Ulis too
And booker literally single handedly lost the Wisconsin game for us, Sam dekker scored on him every trip down the floor and booker couldn't hit a shot to save his life. again, proving that talent does not guarantee shyt.

People forget this when complaining that booker wasn't in the game late over Aa Harrison. Booker was possibly the worst defensive player on the floor.

True, but they also got lucky that Wisconsin knocked us out that year, I think we had superior match-up to Duke
I was discussing that last night. UK would've annihilated Duke. Stein and the other decent big they had would've clamped Okafor and they would've threw too many bodies @ Ingram

Lets be honest, the dude seems to be loved by his former players, and appears to shoot straight with them about their game at the next level...
Yuuuuuup. A whole lot of his former players come back and kick it at the university despite only being there for a year. Why is that?

Probably because they appreciate him :yeshrug:

Not to mention, I know it's not a huge luxurious town, but these kids are fukking gods here.

Wisconsin was literally the one team I didn't want to play until at least the championship game. Their style of play has always been tough for our team to play against, and then Booker has his worst game of the entire season

He wins alot with freshman every year and he could have/should have won more (Wall/cousins year and towns/booker year) . Like others have said, he's always honest with players about their draft stock. He doesn't kiss the medias ass. It makes sense why the haters hate. That's my coach

if i had a child that was an nba prospect I'd trust John Calipari. If he thinks you should go you go, he actually goes to the nba draft and is as happy as if those kids were his sons getting drafted. He'll sell his guys even if he knows their trash lik ethat big oaf daniel orton. If your playing time will be gone he will let you know and wont be mad when you transfer like kyle wiltjer.

Yeah situations like Wiltjer made me really see what Cal is doing.

He knows what your potential is, and he knows that if you can't showcase it and Kentucky it's better for you to just leave and help yourself.

He obviously cares about his own career but I can't think of another coach who so adamantly supports college athletes to leave and do what THEY want to. And if leaving Kentucky is what is best for YOU, not the team, then he wants you to leave

Cal is forever good in my book cause he refuses to play into this "they're here to learn" bs

I hate his way of doing things. He's making a mockery of the student athlete.

The NCAA has done that all by themselves.

Cal just understands the way it really is and isn't trying to disguise his intentions unlike these other coaches who act like they would really be there for these players if they couldn't dunk or score a touchdown.
