I mean I hear the same cliche all the time about Walmart kills small businesses and what not, but I look at it like this: Which is likely to hire me if I really need a job, Walmart or Joe Shmoes small retail store?

Walmart, Papa Johns, Taco Bell, Olive Garden, 7 Eleven, Pep Boys etc. I'd rather support a place that's willing to give me a job over some place that's not.

On top of that Walmart is mad convenient and they have great prices.:blessed:

Joe shmoes small retail store is just as likely to hire you though. Especially if you're willing to work minimum wage.

If there was less walmarts there would be more small businesses. Therefore more jobs at said small businesses.

i don't like walmart cuz the place is skressful. Everytime i go its packed with people, you can't find shyt, employees don't speak english, the ones who do speak english don't know where to find anything you're looking for, parkings a bytch, the list goes on.

Everything walmart embodies reminds me of why everybody, namely black folks, are getting progressively poorer. Labor arbitrage, browbeating suppliers into lowering prices(which causes shuttering of businesses or off shoring to contain costs), the killing of small business with anti-competitive behavior, understaffing, nonsensical management decisions, corporate constantly fukking with the ability of stores to function by applying what works locally in one place to another store in the region with a different demographic...

You can pretty much study the rise of Walmart and see exactly how it becoming one of histories most profitable companies(rivaling energy companies:mindblown:) is in direct competition with the average persons desire to live comfortably. It also is a symbol of small-town Americana dying to clinical gentrification and generic big box shops that don't encourage communal living, and to a greater detriment, agricultural obsolescence. Long story short, never purchased a thing from Walmart, never will, even though it isn't the only company doing dumb shyt.

My only problem with walmart is the checkout. They have like 30 cash registers but only like 4 be open. But besides that it's cool.
