Yea they had a tv show that played music videos every Saturday. Idk if the whole station moved but I remember one of the main DJs Frank Ski moved to Atlanta. I actually didn’t even know that till I went to ATL back in like 2003 and saw him on a billboard. Frank Ski was a local celebrity and was a big player in the club scene. He was responsible for this

One of my aunts actually briefly dated him when I was real young. They met when she won the sexy leg contest he was hosting at a club
:heh:

I can't believe he got away with that name. I was too young to realize just how absurd that name was. :russ::mjlol:

I always fukked with House music too. 92.3 used to have a lil House on Sundays.

Then the House show on 88.9 on Saturdays.

I used to be one off them peoples going up to the Paradox here and there :pachaha:

I remember House music. But barely. I always thought that House was to Bmore what Gogo is to DC. I only ever heard House on the Bmore stations.

Do you mean House or Club music?

Because y'all could never live down the gay dude. I was a born brooklynite too from Harlem to get into Throw ya guns up. In fact talking to an Baltimore YN I told him there was a song called Throw ya guns up that wasn't about guns at all.

I was into house but some of y'all weird remixes was ok. I remember hearing tha Club music Sesame street song in a hood club in Philly.
House music. It defitnely had a following here. That gay dude you speak of was Miss Toni. That was club music. That was Frank Ski’s homie btw. He died of AIDS back in the 2000s

House music and what you heard on the Baltimore radio stations were two different things. That was Baltimore Club which ended up giving birth to New Jersey Club. Both House and club music came directly from disco tho

Side note, I knew a guy who used to be a security at one of Frank Ski's clubs, and he said that EVERYBODY knew that Frank used to mess with Miss Tony & some of the other gays in Bmore.
That gave a whole new meaning to Doo Doo Brown.

Naw real shyt, GoGo turned so many songs way more up. I always forget “Sick of Being Lonely” is a Field Mob song :skip:

If I’m fr, Rap/Hip Hop has gotten culturally stale in some ways so it would be nice if Black folks revisited Go Go as a music genre we can get into and create new lanes in. Plus it would fit that more alternative lifestyle more Black folks are leaning into. It would be cool to see young Black youth in the hood learning instruments and musicality like that.
