My real life personality is quiet and laid back...pretty similar to Shikamaru from Naruto. I'm not real talkative but people insist on talking and bothering me. "Why are you so quiet?" "You should talk more" Some people just arent social butterflies

I'm the same....at times.

Hence why I have the word Taciturn under my avatar.

I more often than not let people just talk and talk, and rarely reveal much about myself.

He is right. Quiet people aren't upfront with their intentions and keep shyt bottled up. You can't read them and so when you are surprised at how they really act when something happens. Ever notice how the school killings were all quiet guys who didn't say much in class?

Give me a loud a$$hole over a quiet person any day of the week.

Quiet people are not the norm nowadays, especially among Black people.

Also, older/mature people don't give a fukk, if you are around high school/college aged people yeah, you might run into some annoying people.

Black folk are expected to be entertainers and be swagged out comedians on the regular.

Now at work, I think I've stressed this before. You have to be approachable. You're just making yourself replaceable if they find someone with your skills... And they happen to be friendly too. Outside of work, cool. I can be who I want.

Unfortunately, thats the last place I want to be social. Same people, day in, day out... whom I really have little in common with. Lets say hi, good morning and speak of only work when conversing.

Outside of work, I'm much more social. Lets chop it up and have a laugh.

I'm quiet. Always have been. I like to observe people and situations before I determine if it's worth my time honestly. I was quiet in school and I'm quiet at work now. I sit in the lunch room at work and don't say a thing to anyone and I can tell that it bothers my co workers. I can glance up and see them staring trying to figure out why I don't small talk. Honestly most of the time I just don't care about what their talking about. I'm like no, I don't want see pictures of your kids/grandkids, I don't care what you did over the weekend , no I'm not dating anyone new and if I was I wouldn't tell you!

Same. I work in a kitchen. Now my station is right next to the bartenders, and to see/hear how fake these bytches are to every male customer makes me laugh/disgusted day in and day out.

I guess I'm a little lucky that I'm a cook, so I don't need to chop it up with people.
