Why do people think Boston is a racist city?

I understand the racial history (particularly from the 50s, 60s, 70s,) but Boston proper is also half non-white and has a very racially/ethnically/culturally diverse city. Moreover, we do have a black governor.

Boston also had the first racially integrated professional sports team.

Personally, I think the city gets a bad rap based on the whole bussing situation but the city has DEFINITELY changed since then.

What do you think?

to me Boston is one of those cities (like a lot of northern cities) where people might not say the ignorant things to your face like in the south but they are definitely thinking and saying it behind your back

Fair enough.

How about New York? And Philly?

But on the real, Boston looks like a dope city to live in. One of my friends from back in the day was from Boston. He moved back there but I haven't talked to him in a couple of years. He was an Asian guy. Chinese.
