Why do people think introverts are some super weirdos who can’t handle human interaction?

Everytime I see the shyt discussed “extroverts” are the well adjusted ones who are on the right side of the spectrum.

What will it take for people to learn that there is literally nothing wrong with introverts? They just enjoy spending their time differently

Introverts think too highly of themselves in discussions. And this is coming from an introvert. It comes from years of being degraded and ridiculed (being an introvert is usually not the cause of ridicule) which is sad, yes, but the way introverts discuss themselves as if they are some advanced breed is quite cringeworthy at times.

Many people dont know how to socialize with those who aren't like themselves and try to make introverts the victims of this character flaw.

Unfortunately as the OP has pointed out extrovert is the preferred personality type in society and tho unfair it doesnt really bother me. People asking me to justify why I do something that doesn't even affect them (choosing to be quiet at times) is what annoys me.

Everybody harps on the whole day about how they cant wait to get home and get some peace and quiet but when they encounter a relatively quiet person they have no idea how to process it.......as if there's anything to even process. If I have something to say I will if I dont then I let things be no more no less nothing complex about it at all.

Me being quiet when I choose to affects no one in any way shape or form and the irony is when u ask people just how u being quiet affects them they get.......quiet

Exactly. I’m an introvert that has NO problem talking to random people, starting conversations, or even carrying conversations if I have to. I just don’t put myself out there and be extra unless I absolutely have to. What’s wrong with that?
