Oh Ok, I thought you were saying he invented that shyt.
Nah, breh, I know about Tex.

I'm giving Phil props for having the balls to use it and he obviously used it well.
Oh Ok, I thought you were saying he invented that shyt.

He has let espn be his agent the past few years. It has blown up in his face badly twice now though. Thought he was getting that Knicks job, they never called his ass, hired someone else, then he had to scramble and say he never wanted the job in the first placeThen he thought he was getting that Lakers job and overplayed the fukk out of his hand
Can't wait for round 3.
Phil Jackson is the greatest coach in NBA History
After the pistons took care of the lakers he left and then wrote a book
Then comes back and the lakers blow a 3-1
Then the next year lose in the playoffs again
Then gets blown out by over 39 points in a game 6 nba finals game
Then wins 2 chips
Then gets swept by the mavs and retires again
I dont know why everybody think phil can magically turn a team into a championship team overnight

The ball is still in his court though. Every team in the league except SA, BOS, and LA (unless his broad takes over) would throw their coach off a building in favor of Phil. The Lakers and Knicks actually did him a favor. Price will only go up after this, especially if the Lakers miss the playoffs. It's not like he's desperate or anything. He can afford to sit back and wait for the perfect situation.
How many coaches have we seen that can lead a ragtag group to overachieve AND manage and motivate top players to titles. You usually have to pick one. Collins couldn't get the Bulls over the hump and when Thibs boys ran into the bigger stars we saw what happened. I would say Pop is the only guy to come close in recent memory. What he's done in SA has been nothing short of amazing.

Pretty much. Look at the trailblazers back in the early 00s, that squad was incredible, but Dunleavy couldn't get them a title. I remember Phil said, "if I had that team, I'd go 82-0". I believe Red Auerbach was critical of Jackson also, saying he always inherited the best talent.....I mean, ain't really nothin' else to it.
nikkas can talk all that "all-star players" shyt all they want, that doesn't GUARANTEE you're gonna go out and win, let alone win 11 'ships...and to suggest otherwise is just idiotic.
thats what tim duncan, job security, and a great gm will do for ya
have pop coach smush parker and kwame brown and he'd have a heart attack before the allstar break![]()
. You dont win in this league with a great player and a gm or narket/tradition capable of bringing in the right talent to go around them. After the pistons took care of the lakers he left and then wrote a book
Then comes back and the lakers blow a 3-1
Then the next year lose in the playoffs again
Then gets blown out by over 39 points in a game 6 nba finals game

What Larry Brown did in 2004 surpasses anything Phil did.
He won a championship with ZERO hall of famers on his squad... Who else did it?
The Pistons were in their prime while the Lakers made last effort for a ring. The team had no bench, a lot of drama, and you know you're in trouble when Slava is playing big minutes. The Lakers would've beaten the Pistons with a healthy Malone, healthy Kobe, and a in shape Shaq.
They blew a 3-1 lead because they had Smush and Kwame in the starting lineup. What does it tell you that he was able to make them a playoff team with the exact same team while someone like Rudy T could not? The Lakers were one rebounding away from winning the series. How can you knock them when the Suns had a prime Nash, prime Marion, and prime Stat.
Again, the team that played the Suns the next year was almost the same team.
That year the Celtics were just better than anyone in the league.
They got swept by the champs. I think that year the Lakers had won the regular season series against the Mavs. The Lakers peaked way too soon (March) while the Mavs were just starting to peak in the playoffs. How can you fault them when the Lakers had been deep in the playoffs for two years? They had less time to recover for the next season and at the end of the series with the Mavs they looked flat and tired.
Phil can get the best out of his players. If Phil is not that good... tell me why other coaches were not able to do the same with the same teams? Phil got the best from Kobe, Shaq, Luke, Lamar, Bynum, Pau, Fisher, etc. Phil is the perfect coach for a team that just needs a push to win a championship. If Phil was coaching the Thunder they would win the championship this year.

Yup, of all teams he had to pick that one... coincidently, I'm sureyou missing my point people think phil is some guru who can fix teams like that
you prove my point with the thunder statement![]()

Do you know how that Detroit team was built? The Pistons were already molded by Rick Carlisle to win a title before the Pistons hired Brown for the coaching job. In fact, they made it to the conference finals before they won the title. Rasheed was the missing piece that they needed to win it all.
