Technical Complexity/Metaphors etc etc. is poetry/artistry though :patrice:
Pac Stans always have to resort to something about "the feeling" and be totally reductionist towards skill in rap.
He's a good songwriter, but just because someone doesn't see what's so great about him that doesn't mean they're a "cac" or that they're "obsessed with technical analysis" or re "weirdos", you're totally reading into that guys post far beyond what he actually said.

All that needs to be said right here.

PAC is NOT an elite rapper.:dame:

lol its artistry sure, but one that's been replicated a 1000 times and has NOT stood the test of time

Collect all of them and put them together and Pac probably dropped more classic material in his last 24 months than all of them put together

Theres a million punchline rappers out there with a hot 16 to their name, theres only ONE PAC

You think people are listening to fabulous or jadakiss punchlines 20 years from now? :heh:

And youre confusing what one PREFERS with an objective like recognition of a persons greatness

you are more than welcome, as some one who prefers more technical lyricism than poetic lyricism, to say youre not a big pac fan. That's your right, no one can take that away from you. You would rather listen to a canibus or jadakiss than scarface or cube, that's cool.

But that's not what Pac haters do. They legitimately try to diminish his greatness and stature by imposing their metrics

"HOW CAN PAC BE THE GOAT WHEN HE DIDNT HAVE ANY PUNCLINES"

that's the goofy shyt im talking about

What makes Tupac one of the GOATs is his work ethic, impact on the culture, the versatility of his music, and the way in which he delivered his verses which such flow and/or venom depending on the song. His stage presence was second to none.

It is what it is :manny:

and his lyrical ability it's once thing to say he was not the greatest lyricist ok fine i could live with that even though i disagree with that as well

but to say he was not lyrical when people have no proof it is just asinine imo personally.

simply compare them to other rappers from their time

So Pac outsold all his peers...was by far the most prolific.Rappers from that era who're still alive have had a 20+ year surplus

and still have yet to close the gap.

I'm not surprised, tho.

The spirituality/consciousness has shifted over more to the superficial side.

Everything is over-analyzed these days.

I agree. Pac is my favorite rapper of all time, but IMO he's not the greatest lyrical rapper ever - although he certainly could be lyrical. His raw delivery and the game he dropped is what makes him the GOAT to me.

To those doubting his lyrical abilities, check out "Ballad of a Dead Soulja," "Cant C Me," "Deadly Combination," "Untouchable," and "Scared Straight."

He fukkin murders these tracks, frfr :whoo:
