It’s basically a type of investment that’s addictive. I’d ask where else you gonna put down little money to hopefully win bigger money. Same as slot machines in casinos it’s all about instant gratification. Don’t say stocks either because stocks take time and patience and knowledge to get good at making money on.

I can’t lie, I play the Powerball and Mega Millions anytime either gets close to 200 million. It’s throw away money and at the end of the day I still work on my other avenue to financial freedom, rentals. I don’t play numbers or scratchers but I do know ppl who do and they at least win some of a regular basis enough to keep going.

Definitely feel ya on the slot machine comment. Been going a bit overboard lately but gonna cut down a bit since I've had no luck and was playing with too much that I could've saved. But yeah I also play the mega millions if I see it's a big jackpot. It's nothing to occasionally throw a ten on it when it's like a 250 or 300 million jackpot to see what it does. And definitely gotta have other investments and gambles that will guarantee money. Lotto and scratch offs just for occasional fun.

The Truth
I never understood it...

i used to work at a gas station in ga as a kid and these lottery folk was the most annoying people on the planet... especially the superold country women. Like buy your fukking ticket and gtfoh... then they wanted it a certain way and everything... never won shyt

or I would be at the gas station either buying some liquor or buying shyt to hit the gym with and there’s a line of like 20 people trying to play “their numbers”...

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
I read somewhere that statistically speaking you have more of a shot winning big investing in the stock market then playing and wasting money on the lottery or scratch off tickets.

all of my clients who play lotto or scratch offs often have a high budget in that department.

They were better off putting that money in a savings account.

Out here, in most grocery stores they have automated machines that dispense the tickets. Put your money in, pick your numbers and it dispenses the ticket. About a year ago i was picking up a powerball ticket each time I went to the store but I stopped playing as I seldom ever even scanned the tickets afterwards :francis:

So Cal
Barring me getting an supernatural feeling or message/signs that I should play I have and will never pay for a scratcher or the lottery, I'm too logical, but to each his own.

The lotto is a lot of people’s retirement plan out here. It’s:

1. Work til I die.
2. Play the lotto, get rich, and try to make the best of these last 20-30 years.

Some people are so encumbered with debt that the lotto is literally the only way they feel they can get out of the 30 day cycle of exchanging hours of your life for dollars just to be able to afford to live.

Some people out here are exchanging 40 hours of their life every week and don’t even have enough to satisfy the financial obligations that allow them to maintain any standard of living.

it’s a cold game out here that’s why you have to make smart investments while you still have your youthful energy and optimism. Or else you gon be a lotto playing nikka too...
