Its a service tho. U could easily just take urself to the store ur ordering from. And pick the food up urself. But they are bringing the food to u. Making ur life easier. Honestly the only time I think u shouldnt give a tip is if they take too long and the food is cold. Or if u just dont have the money to tip.
the service is offered so that people patronize their business. they're not delivering to me out of the kindness of their heart. if there was no delivery, i would just not order and eat from there less often since it's less convenient.

say your order is 10 dollars off the menu, if they priced it like "10 dollars for take-out, 12 dollars for delivery" i would have no problem with it. same with waiters if they already included it in the bill. i just hate the concept of something supposedly being to "your discretion" and yet they try to act like a bytch if you don't pay it. just make it mandatory and be done with it instead of keeping this stupid archaic system of tipping.

Tipping culture ain't as prevalent in the UK as it is in the States.

In Japan they dont accept tips and will return your money back to you..see, a modern advanced society that refuses to treat its workers like beggars.

Some of y'all are just being cheap. The mechanics of some of these jobs is the company will have their price quoted to the customer and you can depending on the level of the employee tip him for the work he has done.

Some of these guys not being paid much on top of the tips because that's where their money is. It depends on their performance. If you know he's being paid a decent amount by his employer then you don't have to tip. But if you know the guys relying on the money you give him / her make a living then you have to add that to the calculation. If you don't tip he might not be obligated to serve you well next time. You're stuff in restaurants and what not will not be prioritised. Food will come cold or tampered with. Or they might just decline to serve you. If you are saying they getting paid a good enough salary, that guys being paid that salary regardless of whether or not he serves you. So the guys gonna be like fukk it. I don't have to

there issue is with their boss, not the client. it's the boss that's not paying them enough, not the customer.

so now it's like "if you don't tip me i'll fukk with your food and give you service below standards???" they call that extortion breh. any waiter, delivery man who thinks like that is a straight up passive aggressive bytch. no wonder they resort to petty retaliation instead of addressing the real issue with the employer.

A taxi driver pulled that with me once, didn't even give me my change, just took it upon himself to pocket it as his tip :dahell:
People I was with had the nerve to :merchant: at me like I was some angry black woman hulk when I told him off and got my change back.

I tip all the time, always look out for delivery guys, even when they're late, but guess what you're gonna get from me when you're rude?

You sure showed him by getting angry and stamping your feet for a couple pieces of change. :smugdraper:

You're half right, I showed him by calmly letting him know he was presumptuous and rude for taking my money and then insulting for refusing to give it back when I asked for it because it was "only $5". I showed him, by explaining that he can't just treat black people how he sees fit out of some false sense of superiority.

Perhaps one day you'll learn that the value of principle and respect supersedes a couple pieces of change.
Or perhaps you'll let people walk all over you when they see fit because you don't think it's a big deal:francis: You do you.

It's not my fault your employer refuses to pay you a proper salary. Can't change the game by playing it:yeshrug:
