It depends on what makes you happy. If being fed, having a roof over your head, and being able to buy whatever thing that satisfies your interests makes you happy then money can most certainly make you happy.

But if you need that...IN ADDITION to the social aspects of humanity ie. being recognized has having worth, receiving unconditional love

Sometimes people actually mean it when they try to down play the value of money and materials, but sometimes it's simply people trying to make themselves feel better about their own mediocrity. Some people can see someone else with a nice car and immediately assume the car owner is struggling to maintain their lifestyle and their stressed simply to make themselves feel better about their own life.

You see that on here with the car example and even realtionships. Somebody doing good its almost always you don't know whats going on in their lives they probably struggling, they broke and I wanna/rather be house rich than car poor, line about buying things for people you don't know, etc. Them cats act like you just can't have money and be living just as normal as they are. Same with relationships. Everybody know the couple that post on Facebook but they both cheating, not really happy, but never know the couple that's just as happy as the social media would have you believe.
