A businessman figures out how to make more money doing less work: "He's a genius! A genius businessman!"

A working man figures out how to make more money doing less work: "fukking lazy greedy union guys!"

:unimpressed:
Private unions are fine. Employees are negotiating to get a fair share of the profit their labor generated. Public employees do not generate profit. Their unions simply want more from the public trough. Some unions, like police, protect those who murder and steal from citizens.

I see where you are coming from and even agree to a bit. I also give the firefighters union the side eye as well.

What do you think about teachers unions?

Also there's the issue of unions for federal employees who ironically enough could make more money in the private sector. This mostly applies to people who work at the patent office, NASA, CDC, FDA, and CMS.

Yeah...I thought a bit about those jobs that would be underpaid by the Government vs the Private Sector...

But for those, what benefit is the Union really providing? w/o the Union the Government would just have to increase their pay to compete.

With the Union the Government has to increase their benefits to compete. Either way it's money coming from the local taxpayer to fund it.

Whether the money goes directly to salaries, or benefits, isn't going to change the fact that it's coming out of my property taxes

In the last few years, the US government has demonstrated that they're willing to declare, as if they were intoning a magical spell, that they have created, from nothing, without printing anything or minting anything, hundreds of billions of brand new US dollars, which they pass to Wall Street like it's the symbolic Olympic torch, so that the illusion of "THE ECONOMY" doesn't disappear from the minds of the morons who actually sit there and watch CNBC.

It's not coming out of your taxes. They're very happy you think that it is. Because the longer you think that way, the more you'll be inclined to help Jeff Bezos fukk over the working man.

Local services typically are. The Federal government, last I checked, supplies only about 10% on average of county and State budgets. Maybe I'm off and it's 20%, either way, the shyt that impacts us the most directly, is funded mostly by us
