They view that as a "handout" and they HATE that shyt. It's everyone for self, everyone should be able to get what they want by hard work.
At the same time they will ignore questions on how they were able to get to prominent positions. The answer being generational wealth, nepotism and knowing someone up the ladder who looks out for them. They'd never admit that though. They love that "all you have to do is work hard" BS like plenty of folks don't work hard but still stay in the same spot.

These people are parasites. They are incapable of thinking that way.

Because they're willing to destroy the entire school system if it keeps black people , immigrants and others from getting an education

It’s natural human instinct to attribute all your successes to yourself and your failures to “others”, when in reality 99% of all successful people got serious help to get there.

You 100% right about people that work hard as hell and never progress, but advancing in this country is deeper than just working hard and I feel like a lot of people, especially black people don’t understand that.

I watched my parent both do the rat race my whole life, my dad had two jobs sometimes putting in 18-20 days. Both of them were hard working but success never came to them for variously reason I didn’t realize til I got older.

ask the democrats the same question. Health Insurance became significantly more expensive after obamacare was passed and you get a fine if you don't buy it. Education has been flying up under both parties.

If any of these parties cared about 'cheaper education and healthcare', it wouldn't be through increased taxes. It'd be through closing down these 10 billion military bases we have across the globe. Hasn't trillions literally disappeared?

On the education front, while shutting down military would save money, the fact we have colleges with sports programs having state-of-the-art training facilities, coaches making professional salaries, and dorms having the amenities of a small condo(which leads small colleges to try and compete with these bigger colleges), .

Tuition and student loans skyrocket while scholarships stayed in the 90s.

Our priorities about what a college is for needs to be reigned in.

But a lot of those programs make that money back plus some, and they raise the profile of the schools so they can expand.

You have a lot of schools that spend more on their sports programs than they make, but they do that in hopes of becoming a school with a high profile profit-producing sports program.

College are businesses first and foremost, whether people want to admit it or not. The only thing that bothers me is that the actual athletes deserve a bigger split of the pie.

Yep, the sooner people realize 'higher education' isn't some awesome social facility and they realize that it is now a business, the better.

Colleges make enough to pay a single coaches millions a year and yet they can't afford to make tuition reasonable? More likely they don't want to because they are reaping untold profit being job gatekeepers. Colleges are essentially certification centers, meaning the primary objective isn't to really teach you anything as much as it is to give you a certification(diploma) so that employers will give your resume a slightly longer look. With technology, we don't even need all of these fancy buildings. We could easily teach online more and make it much cheaper, but online schooling at top universities is by no means cheap. Education isn't affordable because these 'educational institutions' are enjoying the profits. In fact, aren't Americans in more student debt then credit card debt?
Warner says U.S. student debt has surpassed credit card debt

Having the government tax us more and hand out money for education won't do anything. All that will happen is that these universities will increases prices of everything.
