You do realize there are articles about the government forcing married men out of the house in the late 60s and early 70s to give benefits to BW basically replacing BM who was prominently in the household previous because they couldn't get a job because white supremacists across the nation conspired not to hire BM after Vietnam and even replaced BM with poor Asians basically killing many middle income Black communities you piece of shyt.

I know plenty even to this very day. Stop acting like your sister and your auntie are the only Blacks you know. There are many who aren't living on the margins of life. Debt, no degree of significance, cannot maintain even a basic level job, etc. For numerous reasons. Obviously a family who's husband was working class and maintaining wasn't walking out on his family nor was it a plausible outcome.

From my experiences as an African, there is a massive cultural and religious pressure to get and stay married, as well as have children. There isn't anywhere near as much support from parents in helping kids develop emotionally and mentally from a young age in order to prepare them for life after marriage. Many grow up and go into marriage with a lot of expectations of their spouse but don't have a clue how to be a good partner themselves.

Results speak for themselves. Every couple I know range from unhappy to miserable. Some have threw in the towel and called it quits, while others have been considering it for awhile but haven't mustered up the courage. But these same folks continue to prioritise marriage publically and will encourage others to make the jump. Endless cycle of misery.

Imo it isn't a path to happiness or success like it's often promoted to be. I wish more of our people placed that same emphasis instead on education, and personal growth.

I know you may be looking at us as if we got the answer, but breh let me tell you... we don't...

Man, that's just not true if they do it right. If they do it right, they gotta pay for a wedding in America and in Africa. They gotta go through rituals. Getting married in America don't mean nothing, it's for show. In Africa, the rituals mean shyt. You can't just bounce without representatives from both sides coming together and doing mediation. It's a lot that's done. That's why that shyt be holding up a lot even when someone be stepping out.

In islands, they don't do all of that shyt but they still see marriage as an institution. Its looked down upon for divorces and shame is brought to the man or woman. You need shame for shyt. Without shame, mfers just be doing what they feel. You boost expectations and now marriage becomes a privilege.

There is pressure on all women to get married after 30, especially 33 and all men would love to find an ideal quality fit for them even if they crave more than one. Ain't no culture of women facing more or less pressure at that.

Marriage ain't a relationship, it's a fukking partnership. It's should be seen as a institution. You aren't always gonna be happy. That's why people are fukking it up right now, it's now a relationship. Relationships work best when privilege is boosted.

Blacks have the less amount of privilege in this modern society so guess who's struggling in this era with the relationship era of marriage.
