I have only smashed two chicks with kids in my life...one was named Jayden the other was Jaylen

what's funny is the first Jalen in the world, was the NBA's Jalen Rose.... who was also raised by a single mother, who made up the name

The name Jalen comes from Jalen Rose, a University of Michigan basketball player in the early 1990's. When naming my first son after him in 1993, I had the U of M basketball office call his mother to ask the origin of the name. He is named after 2 family members combined - James and Leonard.

he's confirmed this story himself... there were no jalen's before him.. his mom combined the names and made it up
