Why do so many people complain about The Walking Dead but watch it every week to keep complaining?

Grown men be sounding like bytches in the official Walking Dead thread I think we should create a thread just for those people who literally complain every week yet they still Faithfully watch it.

Some of them have actually been complaining for literally three or four years now

They want to keep up with pop culture, I guess. Talk about it at work, with friends, and understand the references online/shows

It's called hate watching. I think you have to have some level of investment to hate-watch though, which means the show/movie had some promise of quality or has moments that draw you in. If someone truly hated it, they wouldn't watch it. It is frustrating though when you see so much potential wasted.

From Wikipedia:

Hate-watching
is a neologism for watching a television show while simultaneously hating its content or subject.

Entertainment Weekly noted the difference between hate-watching and watching as a guilty pleasure. "You wouldn't tune in every week to hate-watch a really "bad" reality show — that’s a guilty pleasure. Generally speaking, hate-watching requires a TV series with high ambitions and features a certain amount of aesthetic perfection".[2]

Because I think they have invested so much time into it, of course you are gonna complain. I think it has fallen off, thats why I was watching Westworld over it. I watch it the day after, as there is nothing else to do, wakc storyline and all :yeshrug:
pretty much this....if you been watching for 4/5/6 years, it's hard to stop watching. and even if you do the day after watch, there's always that one lit episode you're mad you missed live. some shows are easier to cut off when they fall off than others, like i stopped fukking with empire and don't feel bad about it.
