Many reasons...
Some were taught and conditioned to believe women like nice men who provide (mainly financial) for them and pander to their needs
Some have low self-esteem and feel they not worthy of a good woman so they feel that their only way to sniff the pusse let alone get in it is to simp. Women use these men something terrible.
Some men were raised around a lot of females or didn't have proper male/father influence so their mentality is different than the average man that women really want.
It varies. But the sad thing is some men don't realize it until its too late.

All you have to do is take a look at the divorce rate or listen to what these females say (on social media, they won't say that shyt in real life) and you will get the message that you need to tread carefully and stop simping if you're ugly or average.
