Why do some people mount there TV so high up on the wall?

I have different levels for different rooms.
Tv in my bedroom is on top of my dresser and is more or less eye level when i'm sitting down. Same for living room.
But i have a tv in my lil rec room too. Pool table mini bar etc. I have the tv in their mounted high like a sports bar.
I also converted my back patio into a gym and have a tv mounted standing head level in there so i lift weights or run and still see it.

So basically three levels, Sitting Head level, Standing Head level, and Top corner of the room.
