i had a conversation with just blaze once and we both agreed alc kind took noyd spot whether thats fair or unfair another thing ..

Yeah, I can see that. especially because Noyd hasn't been around on a lot of the recent mobb deep projects. and to be honest, Before this last Mobb Deep Album, ALC kinda took Havoc's spot a little. I'm thinking more about the timeline tho.

A better question is why don't West Coast artists utilize him more. He's from Cali, most big East Coast artists are gonna have more of allegiance to a Premo (even though he's actually from the South) or somebody like that if they are looking for that style of production.

I know Blu and Fashawn have worked with him, but there's a lot of new music coming from out West and doesn't look like they cut for him for one reason or another. I know him and Game had a small issue a few years back but other than that not sure.

I see him and Kendrick are possibly cooking up something on the low though, we'll see.

I think the internet is allowing us to really see the great generational-gap in rap now

Some ears are trained to appreciate the sounds of the old...the samples of musicians that did it all from scratch...sometimes Im amazed a lot of these classic vinyl records even got pressed up. There was a relative market for it back then I guess. Hip-Hop has never been resourceful enough to re-create sounds like that....and why bother, when you have dudes like ALC who can masterfully chop and loop so that 1) we get those same sounds in the music we love....and 2) we can revisit those vinyls ourselves and see how drastically music has changed, the craft itself

Not all minds are inquisitive however, and I sense even that those so quick to disregard the craft of an Alchemist, a DJ Premier or Pete Rock....are afraid of what they might discover if they challenge their taste....they might see how much their ears have been robbed, and they might ashamed of how low their standards truly are...... and just how scary it is to be a non-critical music listener in 2014

nikka its music.

People listen to it to be entertained.

They listen to what entertains them the most.

Its not that deep.

Maybe just maybe, people don't like Premo, Pete Rock and Alc beats as much as Metro, Mike Will and Mustard.

People can have different tastes breh. But they dont allow themselves to even have one. Id question anyone who listens to exclusively dusty 90s rap in 2014 as much someone who just listens to radio

Same reason people dont like any books other than Game of Thrones...or any films aside from aside whatevers been released in the last couple years....

Their appreciation for art is non-existant. You dont have to care, but dont act like living with your head-up-your-ass is a perfectly reasonable approach to consuming media and claim to have an informed opinion on anything
