Amazing reply

People have NO IDEA what they like and why.....like, none :pachaha:

I aint even shyt on new music. I like a lot of the same garbage you exclusively listen to. A lot of it, actually. But I know my McDonalds from my Seared Foie-Gras

So, so true! A lot of people are just conditioned to like basic shyt cuz they only operate on a primary color palette. It's not until that palette is opened up that they realize "hey, this is actually better quality". Not saying in relation to Alchemist vs. insert hot current producer, but just in general. I've encountered this a lot recently as I've been putting people on to Oddisee, they can't deny how dope he is and actually sometimes feel ashamed or mad that they hadn't known about him.

I started out the same. In 98-99, NO ONE could tell me DMX, Jay and Eminem werent the greatest rappers ever. Why did I think this? Maybe cause their faces and music were everywhere. It took a few older cousins, a few angry conversations with old-heads, a few years of reading forums for me to open my eyes.....so glad I did :dead:

Not being limited to club playlists, Top 40 and what my dumbass peers like :blessed:

Yeah man, if your entry way into music is through video/radio/media you're always gonna operate from a deficit. Old heads are always the most valuable way to open up your taste buds.

I think ALC actually likes to stay with more up and coming artists to make it seem like he fukks with the underground/street artists. it also keeps him relevant in hiphop without having to sacrifice his sound.

His brand of music doesn't transcend into pop music. :yeshrug: That's why there are producers (beatmakers) and there are superproducers.

the "biggest" rappers that he works with regularly are the lox. and they don't sell shyt these days, so that don't mean nothing.

he had a song with rick ross ft. meek mill for GFID, but it didn't make the album.
