If you're under the cap, then salaries don't need to match. Generally teams are always finding way to slash payroll. Not to mention luxury tax for going over the cap.

so theres not a team with a rich owner (nets/mavs) that spend on the best players and winning the title every year. baseball is different sport than ball, can't compare them. its fair this way anyway.
Trades would be much easier to make and the league would be better if the salaries didn't have to match..
Its too hard in the NBA..

I don't think there should be a cap in the NBA..
Even in the "golden age" of the 80s you had bad teams and only like 5 teams with legit chances to win titles.

It is easy when you are under the cap. It's only complicated when you are over the cap. Gotta have a cap in order to keep shyt from getting completely out of control.
want the Lakers with CP3, Kobe, Bron, Dirk, Bynum and a payroll of $150 mil taking on the Knicks with Deron, Wade, Durant, Bosh, Howard with their own $150 mil payroll every year? You gotta make teams at least have to put some work into it. I am all for "superteams" but even those teams are limited by the cap and that is necessary in basketball.Javele's options are limited to the Nuggets and whatever other teams still have cap room. With no cap any team could offer him any amount of money. Thusly the Nuggets would likely have to pay more to keep him due to more teams getting in on the bidding and having no limit on what they could offer him. .

The same incentive there always is: the fact that some other team would offer more. If there was no cap, instead of worrying about the 4 or 5 teams with cap space, you'd have to worry about 29 other teams possibly outbidding you.
