Yea i'm in VA and all i ever see is AF and Army dudes in uni all day every day. I'm Navy and u hardly ever see us out in em unless it's to/from work.
In Basic and A-Schools you're forced to wear em while your still new, but I never understood the dudes in Kroger at 8pm sunday night in uniform
So by extension police officers should get discounts too. Or maybe all dangerous jobs.
No other profession, regardless of how much it benefits national interests (and how beneficial members of the military are to national interests right now is debatable) gets discounts. Teachers, doctors, street sweepers, college professors, nurses, EMT workers, hell social workers all provide more of a public benefit than members of the military do right now. Why wouldn't we give them discounts instead?
Seriously, what is a reason we give military discounts besides flag-waving?
I know it's one of those conventional things that everybody has and asking makes me sound like a dikk but I've still never heard a reasonable answer as to why we have them.
