Why do we give WESTBROOK a pass for never entering a NBA Dunk Contest?

I’m probably one of the biggest Lebron haters on this board..
But you definitely can’t put all the onus on him:russ:
People don’t want to be in the dunk contest because it’s not profitable and many are not as creative as one thinks..
Plus nikkas don’t want that “Summer Jam” exposal:mjlol:
The dunk hasn’t been good in two years and we have seen pretty much every dunk and it’s variation..
Now I would agree with the ho shyt he pulled that year saying he would participate and backdoor with that dwade interview but dudes just don’t want to do it..

LEBRON MADE IT ACCEPTABLE FOR STARS NOT TO JOIN - PERIOD

Westbrook dunks with so much power that people tend to forget/not realize that he front rims a lot of dunks but his strength pushes the ball in. He doesn't have that stupid vert.

HE DEFINITELY HAS A STUPID VERT.

HIS COMBINE NUMBERS ARE USELESS.

HE JUMPS HIGHER NOW
THAN HE DID COMING OUT OF COLLEGE.

So everyone is forgetting when he put himself forward for the dunk contest as a rookie and he didn’t end up participating because the fans didn’t vote him in?

RUSS IS ONE OF THE FEW PLAYERS
WHOSE VERTICAL ACTUALLY INCREASED DURING THEIR NBA CAREER.

COMPARE THOSE DUNKS
TO THE ONE IN THE OP.
THEYRE NIGHT AND DAY.

I WOULDNT BE SHOCKED IF HES ON THAT BRON/WADE PLAN.

nah he way too big it won't look right

just think the best looking dunks was done by

jordan 205 lb
kobe 195 lb
vince 200 lb
Larry nance sr and jr 215
Wilkins 210

Lebron would not look fluid

its funny the same people that say they want to see Lebron in the dunk contest say that his game is not pleasing to the eye:yeshrug:

DWIGHT HOWARD SAYS YOURE FULL OF shyt.

its been that way for a good 10 years before LeBron joined the league.

I don't know why yall act like its something LeBron started.

aside from steve francis, the last big star I recall entering the dunk contest at his peak was shawn kemp.

and before somebody tries to bring it up- the 2000 dunk contest doesn't count. that was the year they brought it back. vince never even defended his title, knowing dam well J.Rich could've took him.

There are so many A1 stars that could bring it back but I’m guessing they don’t want to

why do people get so caught up in names?
especially now where we have some great dunkers in the league, and low-key the goat NBA dunk contest rivalry possibly still going in between lavine & Gordon.

most A1 stars are not competitive dunkers.
and the ones that are, have already entered the contest at their physical peak, but yall ignored it because they werent superstars yet(Wall, PG13, dame dolla). and a lot of them were low-balled by the judges and vowed never to enter again(demarr derozan).

i'll say this tho, LeBron brought a lot of the hate on himself by pump-faking every year instead of just saying its not his thing. by the time he finally said it, nobody even paid attention.

this post is about to go ignored. no responses, virtually no daps. talk too real for most.

for people putting the blame on lebron, peep mack 10's comment at the beginning.
it doesn't catch his whole comment, but hes basically saying hes already proven. 'I don't freestyle/enter the dunk contest'.

LeBron was just starting 11th grade when this episode aired.

yet, this was already understood about the NBA, to the point where we already had rap analogies.

NOT THAT MANY KOBE OR MJ’S OUT THERE BRUH

kobe is in the same boat as any other star that can dunk but didn't enter the competition.

kobe entered the contest once, when he was a rookie bench player during the dark ages of the competition, and won with a dunk that was already done better and kinda played out by that point.

nobody stopped kobe from entering any of those early-mid 2000s dunk contests.

no he wasn't.

prime MJ was in multiple contests against better dunkers.
kobe did 1 contest as a bench player, against a weak field, when the contest was literally dead to the point where there was no dunk contest the following year.

nice try tho.

if kobe was what you say he is, he would've entered that 2000 contest. or the ones afterwards.

A bigger question is Wiggins.

yea

I think wiggins was falling back since lavine was his teammate.

aint nothing stopping him from entering now tho. and hes already a proven competitive dunker. he should enter the NBA contest.
